I literally started crying in the cinema at this because seriously fuck you, Steve. There are so many people going ~SEXUAL TENSION~. But no. No. This is just cruel. And tony’s comebacks are in no way even close to being as mean; for tony they’re rather weak and stumbly. Because do you see his face there? Steve just fucking ripped him to shreds. And i’m crying now; this just breaks my heart. You’ve seen the footage, Steve? Really? Have you really? You’ve seen him as he watched kids being killed by his own weapons? You’ve seen him being tortured? You’ve seen the only person who believed in him as a person die in front of him? Do you actually get that there is a fucking hole in his chest? That the fact that he’s even alive is a fucking miracle like a hundred times over. One which he’s clawed into existence with his own hands and genius. You’ve seen the closest person he had to a father literally rip his heart from his chest? You’ve seen how he then had to kill that closest person he had to a father? You’ve seen how he was dying all alone and yet STILL attempted to save everyone around him? WITHOUT HIS SUIT Oh yeah you’ve seen the fucking footage haven’t you? I don’t think you get, Steve how much you can’t take those words back. Years from now they’re still going to be rattling around in tony’s head echoing every crappy thought he’s ever had about himself. It just makes me so mad. I love you Steve, but nothing justifies what you said to him. Nothing.

And he looks over and sees Bruce glaring at him and he’s all tense like he wants to just walk across the room and smash Steve into the floor. He’s just watching them and his facial expression just screams “Say something else to him, I dare you.” and Steve backs off, knowing what Bruce is and what he can do.

But seriously, thank fucking goodness that this was said. Wasn’t that the whole point of Iron Man? That Tony changed? That he was once the selfish guy that Steve is describing, but then he went through all that crap, really saw what his weapons were doing, and then went back and changed. He stopped making weapons and made the suit to help people. THE FOOTAGE, STEVE?! How about when he saw what was going on and instantly went to help, and saved all those fucking people… The scene where he makes the stabilisers into weapons… And then he gets so fucking angry and smashes the glass…. Smashes his reflection argh I can’t I have so many fucking Tony feels

Who else sees Tony thinking of Yinsen? and how yeah, I’ll never be that ‘guy’ no matter how hard I try or how much of myself I give because there was only one man who could make that kind of play and he was Yinsen, and he’s dead because I’m alive and thanks for reminding me, Steve, but there’s no footage of that.

And then Tony also sorta tries to look over to see if Bruce is watching, it’s sort of killing him if the physicist is catching this because he isn’t sure what Banner thinks of it, but he has no clue that Banner wants to come over and have a good ol’ Super Soldier hoedown on Steve’s spine.

I love this fandom. This fandom loves my tears. We have a good relationship.

This.  All this.  I thought the same thing when I saw the movie the first time.  Um…what?  He doesn’t make sacrifices?  He’s only in it for himself?  Come on, Steve.  I understand why people ship Stony based on the comic canon, but this scene absolutely sank any movie!verse Stony ship there ever could be for me.  Steve does not get Tony.  Bruce totally does.

Bless this whole fucking post and all its sudden, unexpected Science Bros feels all over the place.

This was fucking mean. Tony may have made fun of him, yeah, but Tony makes fun of everyone. That’s Tony. He never meant anything he said in a mean way. Steve just fucking snaps and goes after him. I’m sure Steve was stressed from being in a new place away from unfamiliar territory, but there was no reason and no excuse for this. Tony didn’t deserve this and honestly, Steve deserved a fucking punch in the face for it.

I also hated the fact that he acted like having intelligence is a bad thing. Throwing yourself into the line of fire is better, somehow, than trying to find a way for everyone to get out safely? Really?
